About

Goji berry contains zeaxanthin, betaine, and polysaccharides. Used for antioxidant, immune, and eye health support in TCM.

How it works (mechanism of action)

Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBP) bind insulin receptor on retinal ganglion cells activating PI3K/Akt neuroprotective pathway. Zeaxanthin concentrates in fovea quenching singlet oxygen. Betaine donates methyl groups in homocysteine recycling. LBP activates AMPK pathway in adipose tissue.
