Sibutramine (hidden)

Sibutramine (withdrawn appetite suppressant)
BannedEvidence: StrongRestricted
Sibutramine is a prescription weight-loss drug WITHDRAWN from global markets (2010) due to increased cardiovascular events (SCOUT trial: 16% increase in MI/stroke) [1]. Despite withdrawal, sibutramine is the MOST COMMONLY found hidden pharmaceutical in weight-loss supplements — FDA has identified it in hundreds of products including 'herbal' and 'natural' formulations. Products from China, Brazil, and Southeast Asia are most commonly adulterated. Any 'dramatic' weight loss from a 'natural' supplement should raise suspicion of hidden sibutramine [1].
