Status: Expert public-health opinion based on independently verifiable scientific and legal sources, and PHIG’s own field investigations
1. Mandate and scope of this statement
The Public Health Institute of Georgia (PHIG) is an independent, non-commercial organization. Our mandate is to:
- Protect population health;
- Promote evidence-based practice in health and nutrition;
- Support Georgian regulators and consumers in making informed decisions about health products.
This statement evaluates the product NEORESERVO® (often marketed in Georgia under the spelling “Neoreservo / Neoreservi”), a resveratrol-containing drinking gel produced by Greenway Global, and addresses the extreme disease-cure claims made for this product in Georgian-language social media – including explicit references to autism, epilepsy, diabetes, cancer and “any disease”.
The document is not a legal ban and does not replace the authority of Georgian governmental bodies (National Food Agency, State Regulation Agency for Medical Activities, Competition and Consumer Agency, Georgian National Communications Commission, etc.). It is an independent expert risk assessment and policy position directed to:
- Consumers in Georgia;
- Healthcare professionals;
- Regulatory and oversight authorities;
- Distributors and representatives of Greenway Global operating in Georgia.
2. Greenway Global and the NEORESERVO® product
Greenway Global is a Russian-founded multi-level marketing (MLM) company, established in 2017 and headquartered in Novosibirsk, Russia.[5,9,13,24,31] It describes itself as a rapidly growing “eco-brand” producing environmentally friendly products and operates through a large network of distributors in Russia, CIS countries, the EU and beyond.[9,13,20,24,28,31,35]
NEORESERVO® is promoted in Greenway’s European and global materials as:
- a “next-generation formula” and “youth and energy reserve”, based on natural juices (red grape, pomegranate, cherry, blueberry) and plant extracts;[0,4,8,12,19,23,27,38]
- a fruit-flavoured drinking gel in single-dose sticks containing resveratrol (typically 70 mg per stick);[0,4,8,12,19,23,27]
- a product that “supports heart and blood-vessel health”, “increases energy”, “protects against premature ageing” and “activates inner reserves”.[0,4,8,12,19,23,27,38]
These corporate-level descriptions position NEORESERVO as a food supplement with general antioxidant and “anti-aging” functions. They do not explicitly present it as a medicine for autism or other specific diseases.
3. Resveratrol: scientific evidence and limitations
Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound found in red grapes, berries, peanuts and red wine. Laboratory and animal studies show antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and cardio-metabolic effects.[2,6,10,14,21,25,29,32] Clinical research in humans has produced mixed results:
- Systematic reviews and trials suggest that resveratrol may modestly improve some cardiovascular risk factors (e.g. total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-cholesterol) and inflammatory markers in specific high-risk groups, but findings are heterogeneous and often limited by small sample sizes and short follow-up.[2,6,10,17,21,25,32]
- A review from the UK National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) concluded that resveratrol supplements did not significantly improve cardiovascular risk markers in the general population, despite promising theoretical mechanisms.[36]
- Large clinical trials assessing resveratrol for cancer prevention, longevity or as a broad “panacea” are lacking; current clinical data do not justify claims that resveratrol can cure cancer, reverse ageing or treat all chronic diseases.[10,14,21,29,32]
Critically, there is no authoritative clinical guideline or regulatory authorisation supporting resveratrol (or NEORESERVO) as:
- a treatment for autism spectrum disorder, epilepsy or other neurological diseases;
- a cure for diabetes, thrombosis, “any chronic disease”, or “all autoimmune diseases”.
NEORESERVO, like other resveratrol supplements, is therefore best described as a food supplement with limited and context-dependent evidence, not as a medicine.
4. Georgian social-media marketing: “super drug” and cure-all claims
PHIG has reviewed multiple Georgian-language Facebook Reels and posts shared by concerned citizens, including content from the account „გრინვეი ონლაინ მაღაზია თბილისში Greenway Georgian“ and associated distributors. Based on the screenshots and text provided, NEORESERVO is repeatedly marketed with the following claims (examples, translated and paraphrased from Georgian):
- “There is no customer who has not had results and no product that can replace it… NEORESERVO is a modern miracle in your hands… life-extending and beauty elixir, a source of health and energy… strengthens blood, heart, liver, brain, blood vessels – everything.”
- “This product finds the problem in the body and fights it… these two preparations [NEORESERVO + FINECODE] work miracles in the body… fight and reduce any disease and improve health.”
- Long lists of conditions for which NEORESERVO is allegedly effective, including (direct quotes or close paraphrases):
- “#blood sugar #diabetes, #blood vessels #veins, #cholesterol, #epilepsy, #liver, #herpes, joints, eyesight, memory, weakness, muscles, heart, gastrointestinal tract, herniated disc, spine, weather dependence …”
- “#autism … all your problems and pains that make life difficult will become the past and you will feel how sweet life is without health problems.”
- Testimonials claiming that NEORESERVO has “stopped epileptic attacks”, “regulated sugar and pressure in one-month course”, “restored male sexual function”, “removed age spots” and so on.
These messages clearly present NEORESERVO as a “super drug” or “miracle cure” capable of treating or improving virtually any disease – including autism, epilepsy, diabetes, thrombosis, cancer (“fights cancer development”), autoimmune diseases and many others.
PHIG’s assessment is that such claims:
- vastly exceed any evidence-based description of resveratrol supplements;
- directly conflict with Greenway’s own positioning of NEORESERVO as a food supplement and anti-aging gel;
- are likely to mislead consumers, especially vulnerable families seeking help for chronic or serious conditions such as autism or epilepsy.
5. PHIG’s field investigation: production site and quality documentation
In addition to reviewing online marketing, PHIG has conducted its own limited field and document investigation into NEORESERVO and Greenway’s production claims.
5.1. Factory location in Novosibirsk
According to Greenway Global and third-party industry reports, the company was founded in Novosibirsk and operates production or logistics hubs there.[5,9,20,24,28,31,35] PHIG attempted to verify the existence of a dedicated NEORESERVO manufacturing facility at the address promoted in Greenway materials.
Our on-site observations (undertaken by PHIG or affiliated investigators) indicate that the referenced location lies within a mixed industrial zone, where adjacent businesses include factories for building materials, ceramics and other non-food products. At the time of visit, we:
- did not observe clear external signage indicating a pharmaceutical-grade or food-supplement manufacturing plant for NEORESERVO;
- could not verify, from outside, the presence of GMP-compliant production facilities as would normally be expected for a high-value supplement repeatedly marketed as a “life-extending elixir”.
PHIG does not claim that no production exists, or that Greenway is necessarily mislabelling its manufacturing location. However, the lack of transparent, verifiable information about the actual factory and its quality standards is a serious concern.
5.2. Certificates of quality and origin
Greenway distributors in Georgia often share photographs or PDFs of purported “certificates of quality”, “GMP certificates”, “EU declarations of conformity” and similar documents to support NEORESERVO marketing. PHIG has reviewed available materials and notes that:
- some certificates are incomplete or illegible, lacking clear identification of the specific product, batch number, date, or accredited issuing laboratory;
- in some cases, product names, batch numbers or dates shown on certificates do not match the products being sold in Georgia;
- in other cases, expected documents (e.g. ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory reports, valid GMP certificates for the manufacturing site) are missing altogether from publicly accessible materials.
PHIG does not assert that all certificates are falsified; rather, we conclude that the documentation currently provided to Georgian consumers and partners is insufficient, inconsistent and not independently verifiable. This is particularly problematic given the extreme medical claims being made for NEORESERVO.
6. Regulatory frameworks and legal concerns
6.1. Georgia
The Law of Georgia on Advertising governs all advertising in goods and services markets, aims to develop fair competition, protect public interests and consumer rights, and to prevent and eliminate improper advertising.[3,7,11,18,19,22,26]
Under this law:
- Advertising must be truthful and not misleading;
- Hidden and unfair advertising practices are prohibited;
- Responsibility for violations may be imposed on advertisers, producers and disseminators, and the Georgian National Communications Commission may act against improper broadcast advertising.[7,15,18,22,37]
In PHIG’s view, presenting NEORESERVO as a product that “cures or fights any disease”, “stops epileptic seizures”, “treats autism”, “regulates sugar and pressure”, “restores sexual function” and solves practically all health problems is incompatible with the requirement of truthful, non-misleading advertising.
6.2. European Union
In the EU, which Greenway actively targets, Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims strictly limits what can be claimed for foods and supplements:
- Only authorised health claims may be used, and these must be specific and evidence-based;
- Claims that a food “treats, cures or prevents a disease” are prohibited and reserved for medicinal products authorised under Directive 2001/83/EC.
Given that NEORESERVO is marketed as a food supplement, using cure-all disease claims – such as those observed in Georgian social media – would clearly violate EU standards if used in EU jurisdictions.
6.3. United States
Under US law (DSHEA and FDA/FTC guidance), supplement manufacturers and distributors:
- must not market their products as treatments or cures for specific diseases without first obtaining drug approval as new medicinal products;[5–7,23,26]
- must ensure all claims are backed by “competent and reliable scientific evidence”.
FDA and FTC have previously issued warning letters and enforcement actions against companies that promoted resveratrol or other supplements as cures for serious diseases without adequate evidence.[16,17,18,23] NEORESERVO’s Georgian marketing – if replicated in the US – would likely be considered deceptive and unlawful.
7. PHIG’s official position on NEORESERVO® in Georgia
7.1. Non-recommendation
Based on the evidence and concerns outlined above, PHIG adopts the following position (25 November 2025):
PHIG does not recommend the use of NEORESERVO® as a treatment for autism, epilepsy, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, or any other specific medical condition in Georgia.
More broadly:
- PHIG does not recommend NEORESERVO for routine use by the Georgian population as a “cure-all” or “life-extending elixir”. Any potential benefit as a generic antioxidant supplement is currently outweighed by:
- the absence of robust, product-specific clinical evidence for the wide range of diseases it is claimed to treat;
- the extremely aggressive and misleading marketing practices observed;
- uncertainties regarding manufacturing transparency and quality documentation.
- PHIG particularly warns against using NEORESERVO as a substitute for evidence-based medical care in serious conditions such as autism, epilepsy, diabetes, hypertension or cancer.
7.2. Guidance for healthcare professionals and consumers
PHIG recommends that healthcare professionals in Georgia:
- Advise patients that NEORESERVO is a food supplement, not a medicine, and that there is no clinical evidence supporting its use as a treatment for autism or other diseases.
- Encourage families dealing with autism, epilepsy or chronic diseases to prioritise established, evidence-based treatments and not to rely on cure-all supplements.
- Report suspected adverse events and misleading marketing related to NEORESERVO to the relevant national authorities.
PHIG advises consumers:
- Be sceptical of any product – including NEORESERVO – advertised as able to cure or significantly improve almost every disease.
- Seek independent, evidence-based information in Georgian from platforms such as SheniEkimi.ge, SheniAmbebi.ge and Supplement.ge.
8. Recommendations to Georgian regulators
8.1. National Food Agency and health regulators
- Review the registration, labelling and quality documentation of NEORESERVO on the Georgian market, including evidence of GMP compliance and independent laboratory testing.
- Require Greenway or its local distributors to provide comprehensive technical dossiers for NEORESERVO if they intend to continue marketing the product as a health-related supplement.
8.2. Competition and Consumer Agency
- Investigate whether the observed cure-all advertising and autism/epilepsy claims for NEORESERVO constitute improper or misleading advertising under the Law of Georgia on Advertising.
- Issue guidance or impose sanctions where appropriate, especially given the targeting of vulnerable groups.
8.3. Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC)
- Monitor broadcast and online advertising for NEORESERVO and similar products, particularly for covert advertising and disguise of commercials as editorial health content.
- Enforce existing rules on broadcast advertising placement and sponsorship to prevent misleading health messaging.[7,15,18,22,26,37]
9. Legal robustness of PHIG’s position
PHIG’s position is based on:
- Greenway’s own public materials, which classify NEORESERVO as a resveratrol-based food supplement and do not claim disease cures;[0,1,4,8,9,12,16,19,23,27,35,38]
- Independent descriptions of Greenway Global as a Novosibirsk-based MLM eco-brand with global operations;[5,9,13,20,24,28,31,35]
- Scientific literature on resveratrol, which finds some limited benefits on specific biomarkers but does not support cure-all claims;[2,6,10,14,17,21,25,29,32,36]
- Georgian-language marketing texts and testimonials observed on social media, which clearly portray NEORESERVO as able to fight or cure a very long list of diseases, including autism and epilepsy (screenshots and links on file at PHIG);
- PHIG’s own field observations regarding the reported production site in Novosibirsk and the inconsistencies and gaps in quality certification shared with Georgian consumers;
- Georgian, EU and US regulatory standards on advertising and dietary supplements, which prohibit unsubstantiated disease-treatment claims for non-medicinal products.[3,5–7,10,11,15,18,19,22,25,26,37]
PHIG does not state that NEORESERVO is inherently dangerous when used occasionally by healthy adults as a generic antioxidant. Rather, the combination of:
- extreme and scientifically unsupported cure-all claims (including for autism and epilepsy);
- aggressive multi-level marketing targeting vulnerable populations;
- limited transparency about production and quality documentation;
provides sufficient grounds, under the precautionary principle and consumer-protection norms, for PHIG to issue this public non-recommendation and to urge regulatory scrutiny.
