About

DPA (n-3) is an intermediate between EPA and DHA found in fish oil and seal oil. Has unique anti-inflammatory properties distinct from EPA and DHA.

How it works (mechanism of action)

Incorporated into cell membrane phospholipids altering membrane fluidity and lipid raft composition. Serve as precursors to specialised pro-resolving mediators (resolvins, protectins) that actively resolve inflammation. Activate PPAR nuclear receptors for metabolic gene transcription.
