About

Broad genus of birthwort plants all containing aristolochic acids in varying concentrations. Species include A. fangchi, A. manshuriensis, A. contorta and others historically used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. All species banned globally due to nephrotoxicity and carcinogenicity.
