SupplementIndex and the PHIG network
SupplementIndex (supplement.ge) is the ingredient and brand database of the Public Health Institute of Georgia network: the reference platform for supplement safety data, built from public regulatory and scientific sources, published under CC BY 4.0.
What is here
- Ingredient pages — for each ingredient: deficiency, dosage, form, evidence, safety and toxicity, interactions, laboratory and regulatory status, products on the market, references.
- Product check — enter a product or ingredient and see the full picture.
- Brand safety scorecards — disclosure, documentation and recall history by brand.
- Drug–supplement interactions — what not to combine with medicines.
- Label Index — reading a label line by line; verified against fake.
- Price Index — cost per effective dose.
Where the data come from
Product and ingredient records are built from the US NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database, the FDA Global Substance Registration System, EFSA opinions and tolerable upper intake levels, EU Regulation 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims, Georgian Resolution №360, and the published literature cited on each page. Where a figure is given, its source is given.
Sheni Labs — the simple front door
SupplementIndex is a complex instrument for professionals. For a plain answer — is this product worth it? — the network’s product science lab, Sheni Labs, evaluates supplements, cosmetics and perfume and home products against this database and the published evidence, and issues a verdict: recommended or not. Manufacturers and consumers can submit a product.
The network
SupplementIndex is one platform of the Public Health Institute of Georgia, alongside the Georgian Medical Journal, GMJ News, the Georgian Institute of Labour Studies, GMJ Academy, Accréditation Sans Frontières, PHIG as official representative of Accreditation Canada in Georgia, SheniEkimi Certification (verified health professionals and simple facility quality certificates) and Sheni Labs.
