Leber disease/hereditary optic neuropathy: cyanocobalamin CONTRAINDICATED — cyanide component impairs mitochondrial function in this condition. Use methylcobalamin instead. Tobacco amblyopia: same caution. Otherwise very safe at supplement doses.
