Family of flavan-3-ol polyphenols from green tea including EGCG, EGC, ECG, and EC. Less concentrated than isolated EGCG. Antioxidant, cardiovascular, and anticancer properties studied.

At mixed catechin supplement doses: generally better tolerated than high-dose isolated EGCG. Iron chelation — take separately from iron supplements. Antiplatelet effect. Caffeine may be present in impure extracts. See EGCG for high-dose concerns.
